The Liget Park Budapest Was Given The Green Light
GOVERNMENT RESOLUTION
According to the Official Journal of the Hungarian Government the Museum Quarter in Budapest can be completed by 2020.
Along with the Museum Quarter designed in the City Park the Transport Museum, the Petőfi Hall, and the Budapest Zoo will also be renewed, and a modern building will replace the old structure of the Budapest Grand Circus. Furthermore the plaster copy collection of the Fine Arts Museum will be moved to the Star Fortress Art, History and Military Culture Center in Komárom.

According to the governmental decision published in the Official Journal the government agrees with the plan of creating the museum quarter completed with the renewal of the City Park during the period 2014-2020.
Among the projects designed in the City Park the journal mentions the new building of the Budapest Grand Circus, the renewal of the Transport Museum and the creating of the Cuisine of Hungarian Regions – Gastronomic Village
According to the plans a recreational and cultural center will also be created in the park, as well as the Square of Arts and the authentic copy of the portico of the Park Gate, which will be based on the original design of landscape-architect Henrik Nebbien.
As a result the biological activity of the park will increase: the old buildings of the Hungexpo will be demolished, an educational center will be created in their places, the playgrounds will be also modernized and above all an up-to-date ecological monitoring system will be set up.
The government supports the plan of creating the Star Fortress Art, History and Military Culture Center in the fortress of the town of Komárom. The Center will be the best place to present the plaster copy collection of the Museum of Fine Arts. The collection consists of copies covering the period between the antiquity and renaissance.
The financing of the renewal of the Romanesque Hall of the Fine Arts Museum, the creating of the National Museum Restoration and Storage Center, and the Star Fortress Project in Komárom are secured by the government with an extra 384,7-million-forint resource.
